(Please note: If you happen to be viewing this 1994 Chevrolet G20 Van on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, it’s possible that you’ve only seen some of our many photographs of the van due to third-party website limitations. To be sure you access all the more than 140 photographs, as well as a short start-up and walk-around video, and a link to the Chevy van’s accident-and-damage-free Carfax history report, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.)
“Many of the G20 models that Chevrolet builds are earmarked for conversion companies” –
Back in 1999, the NewCarTestDrives writers reviewed the G20: “Oh, there will be smart alecks out there who will make their wry exaggerations about the 1994 Chevrolet G20…. They’ll say that with all its traditional big-van styling, (it) looks like something that should be in the Smithsonian rather than in a yuppie’s driveway. Very funny. And very misleading. Sure, the ’94 (is) a typical, high-clearance, high-center-of-gravity van that’s not exactly sleek or aerodynamic in style. But remember that this van has a different mission in life. It is, fundamentally, a van designed for carrying people and cargo as effectively, comfortably, and efficiently as possible. And within that broad context, this vehicle is solid and consistent.”
Offered here is a 1994 Chevrolet G20 “Chevy Van” with RVA2 Equipment Group (converted by Sherry Designs of Piqua, Ohio) in Summit White-and-turquoise over turquoise. The full-size van was sold directly by Chevrolet after the conversion work was completed. The van’s odometer reads 79,724 miles, or fewer than 3,000 miles per-year on average since new. Known for their reliability and. maintained in excellent condition like this example, Chevy Vans are equally well-known for their long life and solid build-quality.
The exterior of the van shows a beautiful finish due to fastidious owner care over the years. The Summit White paint retains factory gloss and even application across the entire body, and there is no damage on any of the van’s sheet metal or fiberglass. Turquoise striping-applied by the GM-designated conversion company, Sherry Designs-is similarly well-kept and like-new in appearance. The metallic-turquoise paint and stripes are free of wear or damage. The conversion company added three large picture-windows (each with screened, sliding, fresh-air lower panels) in the passenger compartment, full-length running boards, roof rails, a roof-access ladder, front air-deflector, corner-bars, upgraded spare-tire carrier, and more to an already-well-equipped G20 van. The chrome bumpers, large side-mirrors, and the handsome quad-headlight grille with gold bowtie emblem were all Chevrolet’s work. Cabin glass-including well-tinted rear-cabin glass-is free of cracks or other imperfections; lighting lenses are likewise clear. The shift lever for the automatic transmission is mounted on the steering column. Factory 15-inch steel wheels with chrome, gold-bowtie-emblem center caps and trim rings are mounted with Toyo® Extensa tires in front and Good Year® Wrangler tires on the rear.
Inside, the outfitting is period-perfect Nineties with passenger comfort and attractive trim a high priority. Crushed-velour turquoise seat upholstery (on all positions in the seven-passenger van) is clean, but shows some degradation of the “velour” from age; matching door trim is in generally good condition. Turquoise carpeting is clean with some discoloration, particularly in the front seating areas. Curtains are in place on all rear-cabin windows. Throughout the cabin, varnished-wood trim is used abundantly (on the dashboard, console top, door panels, rear television cabinet, door cabinets, overhead cabin audio system surround, and cabin-lighting overhead controls) and retains generally excellent surface-condition. All stock Chevy Van instruments and controls (including air conditioning) remain in place and in un-scarred condition.
Under the front hood, the 5.7-liter V8 and all related components (including air conditioning) are neatly housed. The engine bay is clean and properly ordered. Viewed from below, the chassis is straight, complete, and free of damage; a newer muffler is mounted. Expected surface rust is present on untreated metal.
The van’s original build and identification tags remain mounted, and the original window sticker is included in the sale.
While the more than 140 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this ’94 Chevy van in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.
How many more college-football tailgating celebrations, family summer outings, and long-distance road trips will this Nineties-cool Chevy Van make? There’s really no telling.

About Garage Kept Motors
Garage Kept Motors, LLC specializes in classic and specialty online auto sales.
For our consignors, we are the only auto brokers that offer a Transparent Sale Disclosure. This means, when a car sells, we provide an exact copy of the Bill of Sale. We do this so our clients know exactly who bought their car, where it went, and most importantly how much we sold it for. No funny business.
For our buyers, our vehicles are listed on the Internet, with over 100 photos, including undercarriage pictures, and walk-around videos of the vehicles running plus a narrative-style write-up of the cars history and features. Our international exposure allows us to sell cars across the globe, and we sell a majority of them out of state and overseas. We deliver honesty and consistency in our photos and descriptions, a “no surprise” approach, so buyers, both near and far, can invest with confidence sight unseen. We are not a gallery. Vehicles can be seen locally by appointment as potential buyers are given our undivided attention.
