Description

This is a Balda Super Baldina 35mm Film Rangefinder Camera. Made between 1937-58. This camera has
the optional Compur-Rapid shutter to 1/500 second (could be purchased in the cheaper 1/300 second shutter)
The shutter fires and seems accurate at all speeds as nearly as I can tell. The lens is a Meyer Gorlitz Trioplan 5cm F2.9 has no visible scratches. Some slight haze (I believe this to be on outer element) but no fungus on it. The viewfinder and Rangefinder works well, focusing works great too.
The rangefinder is of the split-image type, and in a separate eyepiece from the viewfinder. The viewfinder has automatic parallax correction, coupled with the focusing lever, quite an advanced feature for the time. Bellows and opening mechanism both work evenly and smoothly. Original Strap remains on camera side, in good working condition. The serial number is 5204919. Has the original outer leather case which is in poor condition, torn at top, missing the flap. Still offers protection to lower camera and lens when I shot with it back in the 1980s. it snaps securely around the body at top.
