Description

1988 was the first year that South Korea hosted the Summer Olympics. The U.S. Mint produced this silver dollar to commemorate America’s participation in the Seoul Olympics that year. The front/obverse shows Liberty’s torch & the Olympic torch merging in a single flame. The reverse/back shows the U.S. Olympic team logo framed by olive branches. The coin is 90% silver – total weight 26.73 grams – 1.5” in diameter – mirror proof – minted in San Francisco.  Enclosed in a hard plastic coin capsule in a small maroon velveteen case inside a full size maroon cardboard box in an outer maroon cardboard sleeve with an accompanying COA.  A small bit of haze on the coin but otherwise, everything in very good/excellent condition – see photos.
Additional note: Mirror proof coins/medals have a shiny reflective background. Some photos taken of mirror proof coins or medals may appear to have a blackish or grayish/black background because of the camera angle chosen to highlight the design & any surface imperfections.
Will combine shipping on multiple purchases.
